Saint Cletus Parish School of Religion offers a dynamic, faith-filled environment in which children in grades Kindergarten through Eight can grow in their relationship with the Lord and appreciate the beauty their faith has to give them.
In grades Kindergarten through Six the children meet in a traditional classroom setting, and receive individual guidance as they grow in the Catholic Faith.
We recognize that children learn in a variety of ways, so our catechists offer faith formation that is geared to every learner: hands-on activities, music, church tours, and exploring the world that God provided for us to enjoy and care for, accompanied by traditional text-book learning, allow us to teach your children about the foundations of our Catholic beliefs.
In the seventh and eighth grades, the children attend The Edge. This program allows children to meet in small and large group settings to discuss topics that build on the foundational material they have learned in the younger grades. Activities, team work and reflection time, along with music and skits, help the children learn in a safe and welcoming environment, guided by high school teens and adults from our parish.
Sacramental Preparation: For the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, the children must be in second grade (as a minimum). The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the spring of the student's eighth grade year. We will gladly make arrangements if your child has not received the Sacraments of First Reconciliation or First Communion and is older than second grade. Please contact the PSR office for additional details. Please note that in order to participate in preparation for any of these sacraments, the child must have been in a continuous program of religious education, either a Parish School of Religion, or Catholic School, prior to the sacrament preparation year.
Upcoming Events:
Parish School of Religion Registration for 2010-11
begins February 22.
For more information on our Religious Education programs, contact Mrs. Mary Olmsted, 636-946-5936.
