Mini Vinnies

Mini Vinnies follow in the footsteps of Christ and St. Vincent DePaul.

The Mini Vinnies are the youngest members of the St. Vincent DePaul Society (SVDP), an international Christian volunteer organization dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms by providing practical assistance to people in need.

The Mini Vinnies get together in primary schools and parishes to live out their mission of See, Think, Do supporting their school community and beyond along with the adult SVP group.

In our first year, 13 Mini Vinnies donated 265 service hours to the following projects:

Assembled 350 Thanksgiving Food Boxes for Knights of Columbus
500 Cans of Soup & 200 Crackers for Souper Bowl Collection Benefitting St. Peter’s Food Bank
Assembled 200 Blessing Bags for the Homeless
134 Bikes Collected for Royal Order of Squirrels
Assembled 100+ Alleluia Baskets
2 MVs Participated in Holy Thursday Foot Washing with 10 Adults
Raised $684 in Earth Day Special Collection to promote St. Cletus' Ecology Programs
Created 15 Easter Baskets for Discovery School Children in Backpack Program
Made 12 Bird Feeders & 24 Garden Signs for St. Cletus' St. Dorothy Society
Assisted Clean Up After SVDP Bingo Quilt Social

Lord, let us share our time, gifts and
talents to those in need.
Lord, help us to care for the sick.
Lord, may we all help and support each other as Mini Vinnies to build a better world.
Amen.

Ever-living God, you gather us together
as the parish family of St. Cletus
to make known the love, caring and compassion of Jesus to all people.
Bless these young people.
May your spirit guide all their actions
and strengthen their resolve,
that united in love for you and the poor, they may bring to fulfillment the work of making your compassion and presence known in our world.
