Stewardship

The Men’s Club recognizes that all of our blessings are a gift from God, and as such, we should return a portion of our time, talents, and treasure in gratitude of this. Through a combination of money raised and time volunteered, the Men’s Club is able to make a positive impact in people’s lives in the Parish and community.

St. Vincent DePaul Society Sunday Breakfasts.
The Men’s Club has a Sunday Breakfast during Advent and Lent, featuring our famous sausage gravy and biscuits. 100% of the donations received during these breakfasts are given to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, an organization that assists families and individuals in our community who need emergency assistance with food, shelter, utilities, clothing, or help with other basic needs. The breakfasts take place after 7:00, 8:30, and 10:00 am Masses in the school cafeteria. Visit the parish calendar or watch the Sunday bulletin specific for dates.

St. Cletus Mission Trip Breakfast
The Men’s Club has a Sunday Pancake Breakfast during the St. Cletus Stewardship week (Sept/Oct) in which 100% of the donations received are given to the St. Cletus El Salvador Mission group. These funds are used to purchase basic needs, food, and shelter during their yearly mission trip to help the people of El Salvador. 

Adopt-A-Family
The Men’s Club participates in this St. Cletus Advent program where “Christmas wishes” are granted by purchasing items for less fortunate families in our parish and community. Because of fundraising and volunteer efforts, the Men’s Club is able to help with the “Big Ticket” items that individuals or families of St. Cletus are not able to donate, such as a new washing machine or bedroom furniture. 

High School Scholarships
One of the Men’s Club’s favorite forms of stewardship is to reward graduating St. Cletus School students with scholarships after watching them grow from timid Kindergarteners into young adults and witnessing their many accomplishments. The Men’s Club offers four $1000 scholarships to graduating 8th graders who continue their education at a catholic high school. Two are academic scholarships which are given to the two highest graduating GPA’s (attending a catholic high school) as determined by the school principal. The other two are athletic scholarships, one girl and one boy, who have stood out as the best representatives of the St. Cletus Sports program with their athletic skills, Christian sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit. Winners are chosen by majority of votes by the St Cletus Men’s Club Executive Board from applications submitted by qualifying 8th graders. The St. Cletus Men’s Club also participates through donations and volunteer time to several other worthy events such as senior night for several local high schools, Boys Scouts, St Cletus Teen Life, Luke 18, and Confirmation.
